The 29th edition of VolterraTeatro Festival, directed by Armando Punzo, will take place in Volterra and in the other municipalities involved in the festival, Pomarance, Castelnuovo Val di Cecina, Montecatini Val di Cecina, from 20th to 26th July.

THE HANGING TOWN

The Hanging Town is an interrupted city, removed from the everyday life stage, which disrupts linear pathways, changing its posture, moving a circular, slow, lost step, a thoughtful one, to observe its own walk’s veining and remove it from the mortification of a purpose, of a contemporary hyper-efficiency.

The Hanging Town is a workshop-city where human being is redone, a city where audiences experiment the gesture of hanging from contingency’s noise, the art to leave the everyday life stage to invent another one.

The Hanging Town is made of thresholds and twilights, where Art marries unconventional hours and places, astonishing, wounded and moved. It’s a city of infinite places, where conviction withdraws and lets enchantment and contemplation pass in front, where poetical gesture inflames stronger seeds of thought, enlightening every weakness with the silence of the wait.
